An Evening of Recognition

On October 30, 2019 the Department of Developmental Services Northeast Region hosted an Evening of Recognition at the Ferncroft Country Club.

The Department of Developmental Services’ mission is to create, in partnership with others, innovative and genuine opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to participate fully and meaningfully in, and contribute to, their communities as valued members.

This evening of recognition was held to honor the staff and individuals whose partnership characterizes their significant accomplishments. Fidelity House CRC’s 598 Haverhill Street program was invited and recognized at the event for their outpouring compassion and support they provided to Greg, an individual they served during his last several months while on Hospice and still living at the home.

Although Greg had significantly declined medically since moving into 598 Haverhill Street earlier this year, the staff continuously gave him the attention he required and love he deserved. Greg was able to have his last moments in the comfort of his own home and was surrounded by those who loved him. The DDS staff occasionally checked in on the program to visit with the individuals, met with staff and commend the quality of care that the staff was providing, all of which was recognized at the Evening of Recognition.
