This past week Fidelity House CRC lost one of our Shattuck Street residents, Miss Mary V. Baur, on March 5, 2020. Mary was an amazing lady full of life and spunk.

We would also like to give a shout-out to Mary’s Program Director, Jamie Madden, for her commitment and compassion to not only Mary, but everyone she encounters.

From the Grodin-Carnevale Funeral Home, published on March 5, 2020:

“Mary V. Baur, 77, of Haverhill, passed away peacefully, March 5, 2020 at Holy Family Hospital in Haverhill. She was surrounded by love and friendship. Mary was born in Lansing, MI January 25, 1943, the daughter of the late Norman Baur and Virgilene (Wight) Ryan.  She was a lifelong resident of Haverhill who attended Opportunity Works in Newburyport for several years.

Mary was a gentle soul with an amazing sense of humor. She enjoyed spending time with friends,  and had an avid love for ice cream and Mickey Mouse. Mary had a beautiful spirit about her that inspired and entertained the staff and residents at the Shattuck Street House. She will be dearly missed by her sister housemates, the staff and the many dear friends she made during her life.

Mary is survived by her nephew, Devin Baur of Okemos, MI, niece, Heather Humphrey of Lansing, MI, her dear and close sister housemates at Shattuck Street, the staff that cared for her and those blessed to have known her. She will be forever loved and remembered by the close and loving circle of friends she leaves behind.”
