Creative methods for exploring and developing employment skills:

Art Class

Participants learn vocational skills such as teamwork, giving and receiving feedback, and how to speak about themselves through art projects culminating in an art gallery open to the public.

Photography Class

Participants visit various landmarks, beaches, museums, and cities to photograph natural and manmade works of art. At the end, the pictures are put into a calendar and sold. All proceeds benefit continuing vocational art classes. Participants also chose photographs to be displayed in an art gallery that is open to the public.

Virtual Reality

Learning situational skills through Virtual Reality simulations such as exploring different types of jobs, responsibilities and communication at work and public speaking skills

Entrepreneurial Class

The class runs two times per week for six weeks and starts with creation of an idea and moves through the process of creating a product, marketing, and presenting to a group. Entrepreneurs in the community are invited to share their experiences with the group.

Reverse Career Fairs

You get to be the one to stand behind the table! Employers walk from table to table to meet perspective candidates, ask them questions, even offer to host a sit-down interview. Participants can practice networking, discussing their skills and responsibilities in current positions, and interviewing on the spot. In advance, the Fidelity House CRC staff helps participants prepare their traditional resume and a visual resume.
