This is an extraordinary opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the life of individuals and others with significant challenges. Board members who can dedicate their time and talents to the organization will enjoy being on the forefront of advances in disability services while working with an equally committed board and senior management team.
What does it mean to be a Board Member?
As a Board Member, you will provide mission-based leadership and guidance, serving as an advisor to the CEO in development and implementation of our strategy. All board members participate in events and get involved in fundraising activities such as making social connections, cultivating donors and making personal or professional sponsorship and contributions.
What is the time commitment?
Board members serve one, three-year term and are eligible for one additional three-year term. Full board meetings are held six times per year. There are three board committees – Finance, Governance, and Fundraising. All Board Members are required to serve on one committee. Committee meetings are held three to nine times per year depending on committee. Board members can expect to spend at least 2-4 hours per month attending Board and Committee meetings in addition to any events or projects they may be working on.
